Overview
This training is intended for design offices and pre-sales technical functions responsible for designing low-current systems projects. It establishes the network fundamentals required for IP security, including addressing, VLANs, PoE and fiber.
Participants size an IP video surveillance architecture, an access control solution, an intrusion system and the integration of standard IP telephony. They analyze traffic flows, select network equipment and plan for segmentation, filtering and secure remote access.
Hands-on practice results in design office deliverables usable by IT teams and installers. It uses building plans, point lists, calculation notes and anonymized or generic CCTP examples.
Objectives
• Understand the IP network fundamentals required for security.
• Integrate a standard IP telephony solution into a project.
• Design and size an IP video surveillance architecture.
• Size an access control system.
• Design an intrusion alarm system.
• Produce design office deliverables: plans, synoptic diagrams, point lists, calculation notes and CCTP extracts.
Who should attend
• Design office engineers.
• Account managers and pre-sales technical managers.
• Methods managers and technical project managers.
Prerequisites
Work as an engineer in a design office and be proficient with computer-aided drafting tools, notably AutoCAD.
